Sax Quartet, Oil on Canvas
I Painted this painting during my senior year at Western. One day one of the painting professors was walking around with a group of freshman painters and they stopped at my studio for a few minutes. The professor said something like “he’s pretty good but he probably won’t be painting in 5 years.” I thought that was a strange thing to say about me to those students.
I was very interested in jazz in college and still enjoy it quite a bit. The jazz managed to creep into this painting.
